The Fashion ShowPerhaps The Fashion Show has oversold its "real fashion for real women" tagline, that one they always mention before the opening titles roll. I know there's a hole in this argument, but I thought the designers knew what they were getting into--until they were asked to design for what they call "real women", or in this case, the employees of New York Model Management. Plus side is, they mostly know what they want. But the designers?
Whine, whine, whine. Well, thankfully, it only happened initially, but I think fashion designers should have, at the very least, knowledge of what works for certain body parts, and how to either make them vanish or emphasize them. I can understand being a little unsure, but I can't put my finger around saying it's not how things work. Which makes it weird.

Thankfully there were some very inspired choices. I'm growing fond of Reco, and am suddenly willing to forgive his bitchiness. (I know Daniella won, but her whining wouldn't change anything. She was just lucky statistics was behind her.) Again, Lidia--yeah, another favorite of mine. Special mention goes to Johnny--I didn't understand his logic initially, but after watching, I ended up gasping. I should brush up on my fashion.
One question, though: why does Angel always have to be fixing her model's outfit right before the fashion show begins? It's been two weeks in a row. Her inclusion in the bottom three smacked of politics, however. (The decision to give Daniella the power was pointless, too. Drama much?)
On tonight's episode of The Fashion Show, the remaining designers--crying Merlin included--will tackle that ever-so-memorable part of teen chick flicks: high school cliques. (Title, hello!) I don't know what exactly they will do, but it should be pretty interesting whether they'll go literal with the theme. The guest judge is fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, who runs her own store in New York, and a bunch of them in Japan. Oh, right, she's also the brother of Mark and twin sister of Samantha. You know, Lindsay Lohan...
The Fashion Show returns tonight from 9pm on Bravo. And please, Angel, finish things early, please...
